    SUMMER PROGRAM

In recent summers our annual
Summer Program, has brought young people
ages nine through thirteen together
from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

The theme for the program continues to be "Peacemakers" with a focus on peaceful ways of living and addressing conflict.

Hundreds of youngsters have enjoyed themselves under the careful guidance of our program counselors.

These pictures capture some of the activities and fun the children have enjoyed.

Though living reasonably close to each other geographically,
many of the participants would never have an opportunity
to get to know children different from themselves in such
a hospitable and supportive environment.

Both the children and the counselors value the experience.

Typical of counselor feedback are these thoughts...

I enjoy reaching out and helping kids.

The counselors have to work together, as well.
It was a challenge to be calm and try to talk
through situations with children.

The theme of teaching each child that they can make a difference is important.  Seeing them leave as friends,
connected and hugging, inspires.

Most of the central-urban children who participate
require financial assistance.  If you would like to help
to defray the cost of this Center-subsidized program,
please mail your contribution to the
Resurrection Center Summer Program, at the
following address.

Your tax-deductible donation will be acknowledged.
