HERMITAGE:
"Remove your sandals from
your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground." (3:4-5)
Our hermitage, "Holy ground,"
has been developed as a sacred place of solitude for individuals needing
to step back from the sometimes chaotic pace of day-to-day life.
It is our hope that time spent alone, in a comfortable, but simple, environment,
in the midst of natural beauty will refresh, renew and transform.
YOUR HERMITAGE: A SPIRITUAL
PERSPECTIVE
As you enter your hermitage experience, you will
also share in all the prayers and preparations of those who have preceded
you. You, in turn, become a part of the next person's visit, prayerfully
preparing the hermitage for the next pilgrim as you sweep, change the linens,
etc... The staff of Resurrection Center is praying with you
and for you during your stay.
YOUR HERMITAGE: A PHYSICAL
PERSPECTIVE
The prayer cabin is modestly
furnished with a bed, prayer table, rocking chair, and closet. Guests
are provided with a flashlight, towels, washcloth, extra bedding, soap,
coffee/tea, etc., as well as with a mirror and basin, smoke alarm, and
portable potty. Lighting is provided by a gas lamp and the gas heater
is controlled by a thermostat. A gas burner allows guests to heat
water for coffee/tea and for personal grooming. There is an attached
screened porch accessible only from inside the cabin. The hermitage
has a key lock. A Resurrection Center staff member will always be
nearby. Upon arrival, you will receive the practical information
necessary to acquaint you with your hermitage.
